A27: Motorists warned of delays and diversions for large convoy
What you need to know
* The A27 near Fareham will be closed in both directions for several hours on Wednesday (22nd March) to allow a large military convoy to pass through.
* The road will be closed between Junction 11 (Fareham) and Junction 12 (Titchfield) from 10am until 2pm.
* Diversions will be in place, but motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
Delays expected
The A27 is a major route between Portsmouth and Southampton, and the closure is expected to cause significant delays. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible, or to allow extra time for their journeys.
The diversion route for southbound traffic will be via the A32 and the M27, while northbound traffic will be diverted via the M27 and the A32.
The military convoy is part of a larger exercise involving the Royal Navy, the Royal Air Force, and the British Army. The convoy will be travelling from Portsmouth to Salisbury Plain.
