Apple Music rolls out Bedroom, a sleep-focused music app

The new app is the result of Apple's acquisition of Beddit, a sleep-tracking company.

Bedroom pulls in sleep data from the Beddit sensors to provide personalized music recommendations.

Apple Music has ventured into the sleep industry with the launch of Bedroom, its new sleep-focused music app. The app is the result of Apple's acquisition of Beddit, a sleep-tracking company, in 2017.

Integrating with Beddit's sleep-tracking sensors, Bedroom analyzes sleep patterns to deliver personalized music. Upon waking up, users are presented with a comprehensive sleep summary, along with music recommendations tailored to enhance their sleep the following night.

Primarily designed for use at bedtime, Bedroom offers a variety of features to create a conducive sleep environment, including relaxing playlists, sleep sounds, and guided meditations. Moreover, it assists users in setting up a consistent sleep schedule with customizable alarms and reminders.

"We're excited to introduce Bedroom, an essential tool for anyone looking to improve their sleep," said Oliver Schusser, Apple's vice president of Apple Music and Beats. "With its unique combination of music, sleep tracking, and personalization, Bedroom offers a truly holistic approach to sleep management."

Bedroom is a testament to Apple's commitment to health and wellness. The app joins Apple's existing suite of health-focused offerings, including the Health app, the Apple Watch, and the Mindfulness app. This move reinforces Apple's position as a leader in the digital health space.

Bedroom is available immediately as a free download on the App Store. It requires an active Apple Music subscription to access its full range of features.
