Bayer Leverkusen and Brighton Reach Agreement for Mitchel Bakker Transfer

Bundesliga Defender Set to Join Premier League Club

Bayer Leverkusen and Brighton & Hove Albion have reached an agreement for the transfer of defender Mitchel Bakker. The 22-year-old left-back will join the Premier League club on a four-and-a-half-year deal, subject to international clearance.

Bakker has made 24 appearances for Leverkusen this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists. He has also been capped twice by the Netherlands national team.

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi is delighted to have secured the services of Bakker, who he believes will be a valuable addition to his squad.

"Mitchel is a young, talented player with a lot of potential," De Zerbi said. "He is a good defender and he can also attack well. I am sure he will be a great asset to our team."

Bakker is looking forward to the challenge of playing in the Premier League and is eager to help Brighton achieve its goals.

"I am very excited to join Brighton," Bakker said. "The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world and I am looking forward to playing against some of the best players in the world. I want to help Brighton achieve its goals and I am confident that we can have a successful season."

The transfer fee for Bakker is believed to be in the region of £15 million.
