Greens' record of state government: "Ship without a rudder and captain
CDU parliamentary group chairman speaks of a "lost five years" and demands consequences
Opposition criticizes the balance sheet of the Green-led state government: "A ship without a rudder and captain"
CDU parliamentary group chairman Thomas Strobl has sharply criticized the record of the Green-led state government in Baden-Württemberg. "These have been lost five years for Baden-Württemberg," said Strobl on Monday in Stuttgart. The state government has "failed in all areas".
"The Green-led state government has left our country worse than it found it," said Strobl. "The ship of state has been adrift without a rudder and a captain for five years."
The CDU politician criticized, among other things, the state government's handling of the corona pandemic, its education policy and its infrastructure policy. "The balance sheet is sobering," said Strobl. "The Green-led state government has not kept its promises."
Strobl demanded consequences. "We need a new start in Baden-Württemberg," he said. "We need a government that can finally get our country back on track."
The Greens rejected the criticism. "The CDU is trying to talk down the successes of the state government," said Green parliamentary group leader Andreas Schwarz. "But the facts speak a different language."
Schwarz cited, among other things, the state government's climate policy, its support for municipalities, and its investments in education and research. "We have made Baden-Württemberg a better place to live," said Schwarz.
The state elections in Baden-Württemberg will take place on March 14, 2021. The CDU and the Greens are considered the strongest forces.
