The 19-year-old has impressed for the Celtic B team this season and has been rewarded with a place in the first-team squad.
Rodgers has made several changes to the team that started in the 2-2 draw with Rangers on Monday.
Joe Hart, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Carl Starfelt, Greg Taylor, Matt O'Riley, Reo Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi have all been rested.
In their place come Kobayashi, Johnston, McCowan, Stephen Welsh, Moritz Jenz, Aaron Mooy and Giorgos Giakoumakis.
