Deion Burks Listed as Doubtful for Saturday
Kentucky Football Injury Update
Burks' Status Uncertain Following Ankle Injury
Kentucky wide receiver Deion Burks has been downgraded to "doubtful" for Saturday's game against South Carolina, according to head coach Mark Stoops. Burks suffered an ankle injury in practice on Tuesday and did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
Burks has been one of Kentucky's most productive receivers this season, with 15 catches for 220 yards and two touchdowns. His absence would be a big blow to Kentucky's offense, which is already without leading receiver Wan'Dale Robinson (ankle).
Stoops said that Burks' status will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis, but he is not expected to play on Saturday. If Burks is unable to play, sophomore Josh Ali and freshman Christian Lewis are expected to see increased playing time.
Kentucky (3-0) is a 7-point favorite over South Carolina (1-2) on Saturday. The game will be played at Kroger Field in Lexington, Kentucky.
