Dortmund's poor form continues as they suffer a 2-1 defeat at Augsburg
Borussia Dortmund's poor start to the Bundesliga continued today with a 2-1 defeat at Augsburg, their second defeat in five days.
Ermedin Demirovic gave Augsburg the lead in the 36th minute, and although Jude Bellingham equalised for Dortmund just before half-time, Fredrik Jensen scored the winner for Augsburg in the 51st minute.
The defeat leaves Dortmund in eighth place in the Bundesliga table, while Augsburg move up to 13th.
Dortmund have now lost three of their opening six Bundesliga matches, and this latest defeat will increase the pressure on manager Edin Terzic.
The result is a major blow to Dortmund's hopes of challenging for the Bundesliga title this season. They are now seven points behind leaders Bayern Munich, and they have a tough run of fixtures coming up, including matches against RB Leipzig, Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
Augsburg, meanwhile, will be delighted with their victory. They have now won two of their opening six Bundesliga matches, and they will be hoping to continue their good form in the coming weeks.
