Dublin Marathon LIVE updates and photos from the big day

The 42nd Dublin Marathon has kicked off today, Sunday, 30th October 2022, with an expected 25,000 runners taking to the streets of Dublin.

The race kicked off this morning at Fitzwilliam Square in Dublin 2, and will finish later this afternoon back in the city centre on Merrion Square.

The race is expected to cause traffic disruption on the route, stretching from the city centre out to the south Dublin suburbs, then back to the city centre.

Dublin Bus has confirmed that a total of 18 bus routes are being diverted as a result of the marathon.

The race will see some of the world's top marathon runners taking part, including Kenya's Ruth Chepngetich, who is the current world record holder in the women's marathon.
