Schalke Assistant Coach Resigns: Club Expresses Understanding
Departure of Co-Trainer
Schalke 04 has announced the departure of assistant coach Peter Hermann with immediate effect. Hermann, who joined the club in summer 2023, has decided to leave for personal reasons.
Schalke's Statement
In a statement, Schalke expressed its understanding of Hermann's decision and thanked him for his contributions during his brief tenure. "We can fully understand Peter Hermann's decision and would like to thank him for his commitment and work during his time at Schalke 04," the club said.
Hermann's Reasons for Leaving
Hermann cited family reasons as his primary motivation for leaving Schalke. "I have decided to step down from my position as assistant coach at Schalke 04 for family reasons. This was not an easy decision for me, but it is the right one for my family and me," he said.
Appreciation for Schalke
Despite his departure, Hermann expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to coach at Schalke and wished the club well in the future. "I would like to thank Schalke 04 for the trust placed in me and wish the club all the best for the future," he added.
Schalke's Coaching Staff
With Hermann's departure, Schalke's coaching staff now consists of head coach Thomas Reis and assistant coaches Matthias Kreutzer and Mike Büskens. The club has not yet announced any plans to replace Hermann.

Schalke is currently preparing for its upcoming Bundesliga match against VfL Bochum on Friday, February 24. The club will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach in its last outing.
