Hoosiers Battle Hard but Come Up Short Against Rival Boilermakers

In a highly anticipated rivalry matchup, the Indiana Hoosiers fell to the Purdue Boilermakers 75-70 in a closely contested game at Mackey Arena on Saturday night. Despite a strong performance from Trayce Jackson-Davis, the Hoosiers were unable to overcome a late surge by Purdue.

Jackson-Davis Leads Scoring for Hoosiers

Jackson-Davis paced the Hoosiers with 25 points and 11 rebounds, shooting 9-of-15 from the field. Jalen Hood-Schifino added 13 points, while Trey Galloway contributed 12 points off the bench. However, the Hoosiers struggled from three-point range, making just 5-of-21 attempts.

Boilermakers Pull Away in Second Half

Purdue took a slim 37-33 lead into halftime but extended it to 10 points with a strong start to the second half. Zach Edey, who finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds, led the Boilermakers' charge. Purdue also hit 10 three-pointers in the game, compared to Indiana's five.

Tough Loss for Hoosiers

The loss drops Indiana to 15-7 overall and 7-5 in Big Ten play. Purdue, meanwhile, improves to 19-5 overall and 10-3 in conference action. The Hoosiers will look to bounce back when they host the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Wednesday night.
