Inzaghi gives his opinion on Motta’s claims about Serie A favourites
Inter boss Inzaghi has shared his thoughts on former Nerazzurri midfielder Thiago Motta’s claim that Juventus start as favourites for the Serie A title this season.
Motta, who now coaches Spezia, played for Inter between 2009 and 2012, while Inzaghi is in his second season in charge at the San Siro.
“I think it’s too early to say who the favourites are this season, but Juventus have a great team and they’re always one of the contenders,” Inzaghi told reporters
“They’ve made some good signings this summer and they have a lot of experience in winning trophies.”
“But we’re confident in our own ability and we think we can challenge for the title this season. We have a good team and we’re working hard to improve every day.
“We know it will be a tough season, but we’re up for the challenge and determined to come out on top,” Inzaghi added.
Juventus have already started the season strongly and have won their first two matches without conceding a goal.
Inter, meanwhile, have drawn their opening two matches against Lecce and Monza.
It is still early days in the season, but Inzaghi will be hoping his team can start to pick up some momentum and challenge Juventus for the title.
