KTM: Binder ends long winless drought in MotoGP
Brad Binder claims sensational victory at the Austrian Grand Prix
Brad Binder has finally ended his long wait for a MotoGP victory, taking a sensational win at the Austrian Grand Prix. The South African rider, who had not won a race since the 2020 Czech Grand Prix, produced a stunning performance to claim his second career MotoGP victory.
Binder's dominant performance
Binder started the race from fifth on the grid, but he quickly moved up the order in the early laps. He passed Miguel Oliveira for fourth place on Lap 3, and then snatched third place from Jack Miller on Lap 5. Binder continued to close the gap to the leaders, and he eventually passed Fabio Quartararo for the lead on Lap 12.
Binder then controlled the race, setting a blistering pace that none of his rivals could match. He crossed the line 3.7 seconds ahead of second-placed Francesco Bagnaia, with Quartararo completing the podium.
Binder's relief after victory
"It's an incredible feeling," said Binder after the race. "I've been working so hard for this, and it finally feels like it's paid off. I'm so happy for myself and for the team. We've all put in so much effort, and it's great to finally get a win."
Binder's victory is a major boost for KTM, who have struggled for form in recent races. It is also a significant result for Binder, who has now established himself as one of the top riders in MotoGP.
