KTM in Australia: Three crashes in the sprint, Binder in the GP first Ducati pursuer
Brad Binder scores his best result of the season and finishes fourth, Miguel Oliveira eleventh, Raul Fernandez crashes in the sprint and retires in the GP
The Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix held at the Phillip Island circuit was an unlucky one for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing. Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez crashed in the sprint and were forced to start from the back of the grid for the main race. Binder, on the other hand, had a good start and was able to make up some positions. The South African rider settled into a good rhythm and fought for the podium until the end, finishing just off the podium in fourth place.

Oliveira was the first to crash in the sprint, crashing heavily at turn 1. The Portuguese rider was able to get up and walk away, but he was forced to retire from the race. Fernandez crashed later in the sprint at turn 4 and was also forced to retire. The Spaniard was able to start the main race, but he crashed again on lap 1 and was forced to retire.
Binder rides to a fourth-place finish
Binder had a good start in the main race and was able to move up into the top five. The South African rider settled into a good rhythm and maintained a good pace for the rest of the race. Binder was able to fight for the podium until the end but ultimately finished just off the podium in fourth place. This was Binder's best result of the season.
