Leipzig Beat Freiburg To Move Top Of Bundesliga

RB Leipzig moved top of the Bundesliga on Saturday after a comfortable 3-0 victory at Freiburg, while Borussia Dortmund's poor away form continued with a 2-1 defeat at Augsburg. Christopher Nkunku scored twice and Andre Silva added a third as Leipzig made it four wins from four games this season to move a point clear of Bayern Munich, who host Borussia Monchengladbach on Sunday. Freiburg had won their first three games but were outplayed by Leipzig, who took the lead in the 19th minute when Nkunku fired home from 12 yards after a good run from Silva. Nkunku doubled Leipzig's lead midway through the second half when he converted a penalty after being fouled by Freiburg goalkeeper Mark Flekken. Silva added the third in stoppage time with a fine solo effort, dribbling past several Freiburg defenders before slotting home.

Dortmund Lose Away Again

Dortmund's poor away form continued as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Augsburg. Edin Terzic's side have now lost three of their four away games this season, with their only victory coming at newly promoted Werder Bremen. Augsburg took the lead in the 35th minute when Florian Niederlechner headed home from a corner. Dortmund equalised in the 58th minute through Jude Bellingham, but Augsburg regained the lead just two minutes later when Ermedin Demirovic tapped home from close range. Dortmund pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages but could not find a way through the Augsburg defence. The defeat leaves Dortmund in eighth place on six points, while Augsburg move up to 10th on five points.
