FC Barcelona humiliates Real Madrid 4-0 in El Clasico
Los Blancos suffer a historic defeat at home
Robert Lewandowski's hat-trick sends Barcelona back to the top of La Liga
FC Barcelona put on a masterclass at the Bernabeu, thrashing arch-rivals Real Madrid 4-0 in a battle for La Liga supremacy. Robert Lewandowski tormented the Los Blancos defense, scoring a brilliant hat-trick, while Ousmane Dembele added the icing on the cake with a stunning solo goal.
Madrid came into the match in fine form but looked lost right from the beginning, failing to control possession or carve out any meaningful chances. Barcelona, on the other hand, were majestic in their attacking play, moving the ball quickly and precisely, creating plenty of opportunities.
The match turned on its head in the 15th minute, when Lewandowski controlled a cross from Ferran Torres with his chest before volleying it home. The Pole doubled Barcelona's lead in the 37th minute with another clinical finish, this time a header from a Dembele cross.
To Madrid's credit, they tried to fight back after the break, but Barcelona defended resolutely and snuffed out any threat. Lewandowski's hat-trick goal in the 67th minute effectively sealed the match, and Dembele's breakaway strike in the 78th minute added further gloss to the scoreline.
The victory is a major boost for Barcelona's title hopes and a demoralizing blow for Real Madrid. It also marks the first time Barcelona have beaten Madrid by a margin of four goals since 2015.
Lewandowski's hat-trick takes his tally for the season to 14 goals in just 11 La Liga matches. He has now scored more goals in El Clasico (10) than any other player in the 21st century.
