MotoGP: Brad Binder – “It was a bit tricky”

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider Brad Binder has admitted that the British Grand Prix was a bit tricky, but he was able to bring his KTM home in seventh place.

Binder got a poor start from seventh on the grid and found himself down in 15th place on the opening lap. However, the South African rider was able to make his way through the field and was up to eighth place by the time the race was red-flagged due to a crash involving Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar) and Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda Idemitsu).

The race was restarted over 14 laps, and Binder was able to make a good start and move up to seventh place. He was able to hold onto that position until the end of the race, despite coming under pressure from Johann Zarco (Pramac Racing) in the closing stages. Speaking after the race, Binder said: “It was a bit tricky, especially in the first few laps. I got a bad start and lost a lot of positions. But I was able to make my way back through the field and finish in seventh place. I’m happy with that, but I know that we can do better.”

Binder also praised his team for their work over the weekend and said that he is confident that they can continue to improve. He added: “The team has done a great job this weekend. We’ve made some good progress with the bike, and I’m feeling more and more comfortable on it. I’m confident that we can continue to improve and challenge for the podium in the remaining races.”

Binder’s seventh-place finish at the British Grand Prix was his best result of the 2022 season so far. He will be hoping to continue his good form at the next race, the Austrian Grand Prix, which takes place on August 21st.
