Neil Lennon: Former Celtic Boss Appointed New Manager of FC Rapid București
Lennon Returns to Management with Romanian Club
Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon has been appointed as the new manager of Romanian club FC Rapid București. The 51-year-old has been out of work since leaving Cypriot club Omonia Nicosia in May 2022.
Lennon is a highly experienced manager, having previously managed Celtic, Hibernian, and Bolton Wanderers. He won three Scottish Premiership titles, two Scottish Cups, and two Scottish League Cups during his time at Celtic.
Rapid București in Need of Revival
Rapid București is one of the most successful clubs in Romanian history, but they have fallen on hard times in recent years. The club was relegated to the second tier in 2015 and has struggled to return to the top flight since then.
Lennon will be tasked with turning Rapid București's fortunes around and guiding them back to the Romanian top flight. The club's fans will be hoping that Lennon can replicate the success he enjoyed at Celtic.
Lennon's Ambitions for Rapid București
Lennon has said that he is excited to take on the challenge of managing Rapid București and that he is confident that he can help the club to achieve success.
“I am delighted to be appointed as the new manager of FC Rapid București,” said Lennon. “This is a historic club with a proud tradition and I am excited to be part of its future.
"I know that the club has been through a difficult period in recent years, but I am confident that we can turn things around and bring success back to Rapid București."
