Interest in the Peaky Blinders is building ahead of the launch of the highly anticipated sixth and final series of the hit BBC gangster drama, and there was excitement in Goole when it was revealed filming would be taking place.

The cast and crew have descended on the East Yorkshire town and fans have been keen to catch a glimpse of the action and see their favourite stars up close.

On Tuesday, March 8, a Facebook group dedicated to all things Peaky Blinders posted some pictures of some of the show’s stars arriving on set, while warning people about filming taking place and simulated explosions being used.

The post said: “Filming in Goole today and the Peaky Blinders are back in town. Cillian Murphy, Paul Anderson and Harry Kirton have been seen on set so far. Please note there will be simulated explosions during the shoot so don’t be alarmed.”

The Peaky Blinders is written by Steven Knight and is a huge hit both in the UK and internationally, with a host of famous fans including David Beckham and Snoop Dogg.

The drama is set in Birmingham in the aftermath of the First World War and follows the Shelby family as they rise to prominence as a feared and respected gang.

The sixth series will be the final outing for the gang and fans are eagerly awaiting its release.
