Rodgers blasts 'big energy' as Packers lose to Commanders
Quarterback rips 'lack of detail' in offense after second straight defeat
Washington secure first win of season with 23-21 triumph at Lambeau Field
Aaron Rodgers has lambasted his Green Bay Packers team's "big energy" following their second straight defeat to start the 2022 season.
The Packers fell 23-21 to the Washington Commanders at Lambeau Field on Sunday, with Rodgers throwing for 251 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
The defeat leaves the Packers with a 0-2 record, their worst start to a season since 2018.
Rodgers was critical of his team's performance after the game, saying they lacked "detail" in their offense.
"We've got to be better in the details," Rodgers said. "We've got to be more consistent. We've got to be more detailed in our approach. We've got to be more detailed in our execution."
The Packers' offense struggled to find a rhythm against the Commanders' defense, with Rodgers being sacked three times and hit six times.
The running game also failed to get going, with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon combining for just 65 yards on 19 carries.
The Packers will look to bounce back next week when they travel to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
**'BIG ENERGY,' DEMANDS RODGERS**
Rodgers' comments about "big energy" came in response to a question about the team's lack of energy in the first half.
The Packers trailed 10-0 at halftime, and Rodgers said the team needs to bring more energy to the field in the early going.
"We've got to bring more energy," Rodgers said. "We've got to have more big energy. We've got to be more excited to play the game. We've got to be more excited to be out there with each other.
"We've got to have more fun. We've got to enjoy this game more. We've got to embrace the challenge more. We've got to be more excited to go out there and compete."
The Packers will need to find a way to generate more energy if they want to turn their season around.
They have a tough test next week against the Buccaneers, who are coming off a 19-3 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
