Stephen Robinson looks for St Mirren ‘reset’ to produce results against Rangers

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson is demanding a response from his players when they host Rangers on Saturday.

The Buddies have lost their last three matches and have slipped to ninth in the Scottish Premiership table.

Robinson is calling for a "reset" from his players, who he believes have been "underperforming" in recent weeks.

He said: "We need a reset. We need to go back to basics and start performing at the levels we know we can."

Robinson is confident that his players can get back to winning ways against Rangers, who are the reigning Scottish champions.

He said: "We know it's going to be a tough game, but we're at home and we need to show our fans what we can do.

"We need to be more aggressive, more determined and more clinical in front of goal. If we do that, then I'm confident we can get a result."

St Mirren will be without suspended midfielder Ethan Erhahon for the match against Rangers.

However, Robinson has a full squad to choose from otherwise.

Rangers will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with a win at St Mirren.

The Gers are currently two points clear of Celtic and have a game in hand over their Old Firm rivals.

Rangers manager Michael Beale is expected to make changes to his team following their 4-0 win over Hearts in the Scottish League Cup semi-final on Sunday.

Alfredo Morelos and Tom Lawrence are both pushing for starts after coming off the bench to score against Hearts.

The match between St Mirren and Rangers kicks off at 3pm on Saturday.
