The Joliet West football team put together its most complete performance of the season last Friday night, defeating Lockport 24-7 in a SouthWest Suburban Blue game.
The Tigers (5-3, 4-1) were led by senior quarterback Jaden Johnson, who threw for 125 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 55 yards and a score.
Senior receiver Tyrese Thomas caught five passes for 75 yards and a touchdown, and senior running back Quinton Hunter rushed for 50 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Tigers were led by senior linebacker Josh Smith, who had 10 tackles and an interception.
Senior safety Jalen Slaughter and junior cornerback Jaylen Williams each had seven tackles, and senior defensive lineman Tyreece Allen had six tackles and a sack.
The win was the Tigers' fourth in a row, and it kept them in contention for a playoff berth.
Joliet West will host Lincoln-Way East (5-3, 4-1) in a SouthWest Suburban Blue game this Friday night.
