Missouri football coach Eliah Drinkwitz met with the media Monday to preview Saturday's game against Mississippi State. With the Bulldogs coming off back-to-back SEC wins, Drinkwitz knows his team has a tough challenge ahead of them. However, he believes Missouri is up to the task.
"Mississippi State is a good football team," Drinkwitz said. "They're well-coached, they have good players, and they're playing with a lot of confidence right now. That said, I like where our football team is at. I like the way we're practicing, and I like the way we're preparing.
Missouri enters the game with a 2-3 record, but Drinkwitz believes his team is starting to find its identity. He said the Tigers are becoming more physical and more consistent, and he likes the way they're developing. He's seen a consistency and competitiveness during practice that he likes and hopes it translates to game day.

Mississippi State comes into the game with a 3-2 record, but they're coming off consecutive wins against LSU and Texas A&M. He's also thrown five interceptions.
Running back Jo'quavious Marks has rushed for 314 yards and four touchdowns this season. He's averaging 6.3 yards per carry. In addition, he's caught 18 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown.
On defense, Mississippi State is led by senior linebacker Jett Johnson. Johnson has 29 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and one interception this season. He's a tackling machine in the middle of the defense and will be someone Mizzou needs to keep an eye on.
