West Ham defender Wan-Bissaka admits it was "difficult to leave" Man Utd
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has admitted it was "difficult" to leave Manchester United this summer.
The right-back joined West Ham on a season-long loan deadline day, having fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford following the arrival of Tyrell Malacia.
Wan-Bissaka made 126 appearances for United after joining from Crystal Palace in 2019, but he started just four Premier League games last season.
The 24-year-old admits it was a tough decision to leave United, but he believes it is the right move for his career.
"It was difficult to leave Man United," Wan-Bissaka told the club's website. "I had a great time there and I learned a lot.
"But I felt like it was the right time for me to move on and I'm excited to be here at West Ham.
"I'm looking forward to working with the manager and the players and hopefully I can help the team achieve its goals."
Wan-Bissaka is a talented defender who is good at tackling and one-on-one defending.
He is also a good crosser of the ball and has a strong work rate.
However, he can be caught out of position at times and is not the best passer of the ball.
Overall, Wan-Bissaka is a solid defender who will be a good addition to the West Ham squad.
He will provide competition for Vladimir Coufal at right-back and will be hoping to impress enough to earn a permanent move to the London Stadium.
West Ham fans will be hoping that Wan-Bissaka can help the team improve on their seventh-place finish last season.
The Hammers have a good squad and will be aiming to challenge for a European place this season.
The addition of Wan-Bissaka will give them another option at right-back and will help them compete on all fronts.
Wan-Bissaka is a good signing for West Ham and he will be hoping to help the team achieve its goals this season.
