Winger Goes for Scan

Sunderland winger Jewison Bennette has undergone a scan on his ankle after being forced off in the first half of the Black Cats' 2-1 defeat to Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night.

The Costa Rican international was making his first start for the club since returning from the World Cup, and he had looked lively in the opening stages before being forced off after just 25 minutes.

Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray confirmed after the game that Bennette had suffered a knock to his ankle, and he would undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury.

Mowbray also admitted that he may have to tweak his formation in the wake of Sunderland's defeat to Bristol Rovers.

The Black Cats have now lost three of their last four games in all competitions, and Mowbray admitted that he was not happy with the team's performance against Bristol Rovers.

Mowbray said that he would consider changing his formation in order to get more out of his players, and he hinted that he could switch to a 4-4-2 formation.
