Wissa's Goal Makes It 2-2

Brentford came from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw at Deepdale

Yoane Wissa scored the equaliser just seconds after Josh Clarke put Preston ahead

Yoane Wissa scored a last-gasp equaliser as Brentford came from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw at Preston. The Bees had looked set to suffer their first defeat of the season when Josh Clarke's deflected effort put Preston 2-0 up with just 25 minutes remaining. But Brentford showed great character to hit back with two goals in the space of two minutes, with Saman Ghoddos pulling one back before Wissa headed home the equaliser. The result means Brentford remain unbeaten in the Championship this season and move up to third in the table. Preston, meanwhile, stay 11th. Preston started the game brightly and went close to taking the lead in the opening minutes when Emil Riis Jakobsen's shot was saved by David Raya. Brentford gradually grew into the game and started to create chances of their own, with Wissa going close on a couple of occasions. However, it was Preston who took the lead against the run of play in the 35th minute. A corner was cleared to the edge of the area, where Riis Jakobsen picked up the ball and played it into the path of Clarke. Clarke's shot took a deflection off Ethan Pinnock and looped over Raya into the net. Preston doubled their lead in the 65th minute when Riis Jakobsen scored a fine individual goal. The Danish striker picked up the ball on the left wing and drove into the Brentford area. He beat two defenders before firing a low shot into the bottom corner. Brentford pulled a goal back just two minutes later when Ghoddos headed home from close range after a cross from Bryan Mbeumo. And the Bees completed the comeback in the 67th minute when Wissa headed home from a corner. It was a dramatic end to a game that looked to be heading for a Preston victory. But Brentford showed great character to come from behind and earn a point. The Bees will be looking to build on this result when they host Birmingham City on Saturday. Preston, meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back when they travel to Swansea City on the same day.
