Wrexham A.F.C. and Charlton Athletic F.C. played out an entertaining 1-1 draw at The Racecourse Ground on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors took the lead in the 15th minute through a fine strike from Diallang Jaiyesimi, but Wrexham equalised just before the half-hour mark through Paul Mullin.

Both teams had chances to win the game in the second half, but neither side could find a winner.

The result leaves Wrexham in 10th place in League One, while Charlton remain in 12th.

Wrexham started the game brightly and created a number of early chances, but they were unable to find the breakthrough.

Charlton grew into the game and took the lead in the 15th minute when Jaiyesimi fired home a stunning strike from 25 yards.

Wrexham responded well to going behind and equalised just before the half-hour mark through Mullin.

The second half was a more even affair, with both teams having chances to win the game.

Wrexham came close to taking the lead in the 65th minute when Mullin hit the post, while Charlton had a great chance to win it in the 80th minute but Conor Washington fired wide.

In the end, both teams had to settle for a point.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said: "I'm pleased with the point. Charlton are a good side and they made it difficult for us.

"We showed great character to come back from behind and I'm proud of the players.

"We're still unbeaten in the league and we're looking forward to our next game."

Charlton manager Dean Holden said: "I'm disappointed with the result but I'm pleased with the performance.

"We created a number of chances and we played some good football.

"We just need to be more clinical in front of goal.

"We're still a work in progress but I'm confident that we can achieve our goals this season."
