Villach, Austria - A high-speed car chase in the southern Austrian city of Villach ended in a tragic accident on Tuesday, leaving one person dead and several others injured.
The incident began when police attempted to stop a speeding vehicle on the outskirts of the city. The driver refused to pull over, leading to a high-speed pursuit that spanned several kilometers.
According to witnesses, the chase reached speeds of over 160 kilometers per hour (100 miles per hour), with the fleeing vehicle weaving in and out of traffic and running red lights.
Multiple Crashes and One Fatality
As the pursuit continued, the fleeing vehicle collided with several other cars, causing extensive damage and injuries.
The most serious collision occurred near the city center, where the fleeing vehicle slammed into a bus stop, killing one person and injuring several others.
The driver of the fleeing vehicle was also killed in the crash. Police have not yet released the identities of the victims.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
