Hibernian Duo Suspended After Edinburgh Derby Clash
Gray and Newell Sent Off as Hibs Suffer Home Defeat
Hibernian manager Lee Johnson has confirmed that Rocky Bushiri and Momodou Bojang will both be suspended for the club's upcoming game against St Mirren after being sent off in the Edinburgh derby on Saturday.
The Easter Road boss revealed that the pair will serve one-match bans after being dismissed during their side's 3-1 defeat to Hearts at Easter Road.
Bushiri Sees Red for Dangerous Challenge
Bushiri was shown a straight red card in the 22nd minute for a dangerous challenge on Hearts defender Kye Rowles.
The incident was reviewed by VAR, and referee David Munro deemed that Bushiri's tackle was worthy of a sending-off.
Bojang Sent Off for Second Bookable Offence
Bojang was shown a second yellow card in the 85th minute for a foul on Barrie McKay.
The midfielder had already been booked in the first half for a challenge on Josh Ginnelly.
Johnson admitted that both players "let the team down" with their dismissals.
"I'm not going to defend those two challenges," Johnson said. "They were both poor and they cost us the game."
The suspensions mean that Bushiri and Bojang will both miss Hibs' trip to St Mirren on Saturday.
