NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya will retire from full-time competition at the end of the 2023 season, the driver announced on Tuesday. Montoya, 46, has been competing in NASCAR since 2006 and has won two Indianapolis 500s and one Daytona 500 during his career.
In a statement, Montoya said that he had made the decision to retire after much deliberation. "I have decided to retire from full-time NASCAR competition at the end of the 2023 season," Montoya said. "This was not an easy decision, but it is one that I have made after much thought and consideration."
Montoya's NASCAR career has been a successful one, with seven wins, 29 top-five finishes, and 81 top-10 finishes in 396 starts.
Montoya is a two-time Indianapolis 500 winner, having won the race in 2000 and 2015. He is also a former Formula One driver, having competed in the series from 2001 to 2006.
